Hello Dharma Friends,
We will have a 2-day retreat in October for taking refuge vows and Shakyamuni mantra recitations to accumulate merit.

Saturday, Oct 4, 2025 from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Sunday, Oct 5, 2025 from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Lunch will be served each day at 12:30pm.
Geshe la will give instruction on taking refuge
– What it means to take a refuge vow and its benefits.
– Receive the Vow
– Meditation instruction on how to take refuge.
This will be followed by Shakyamuni prayers & mantra recitation.
Our events are open to the public and free of charge.
Events are open to attend in-person, and are often cast on Zoom.
Our resident teacher is available for private consultation by appointment.

གཞི་གྲུབ་
Established basis
Spelling (jorlok; Tib. སྦྱོར་ཀློག་) and pronunciation:
གཞི་ – ga-o zha gigu zhi
གྲུབ་ – ga ra-tak dra zhabkyu dru ba drub
zhi drubFrom class notes:
“First, what must be understood is this: the established basis (Tib. གཞི་གྲུབ་ gzhi grub), object of knowledge (Tib. ཤེས་བྱ་ shes bya), existence (Tib. ཡོད་པ་ yod pa), and phenomena (Tib. ཆོས་ chos) are all of one meaning.
The meaning of an established basis is that which is established by valid cognition (Skt. pramāṇa).”
Geshe la encourages us to learn Tibetan to help gain deeper
understanding of the teachings, and gain access to prayers and rituals that have not been translated. The Tibetan word of the day is offered to give regular exposure to Tibetan reading and vocabulary.You can adjust your subscription to filter seeing this depending on your interests.
