Zoom Dharma teachings

We are happy to announce that we will be resuming teachings via Zoom until the new temple is renovated and ready. Thank you for your patience.

We need to shift the time of the teachings to the afternoon to accommodate Geshe la and Ama la’s schedule. The teaching will be weekly on Sundays, starting September 13th, from 2pm to 3:30pm.

We recommend that you download and install Zoom before next Sunday to prepare for the virtual meeting. Feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions. The meeting details are included further down in the email.

We will start the teachings following the same format as in-person:
– Open with the refuge prayer
– Dharma teaching for 60 minutes
– 15-20 minutes for questions and clarification
– Closing comments and dedication prayer

Geshe la intends to begin a new topic on View and Behaviour in the Buddhist context.

We are happy to welcome you back and look forward to seeing you next week. To start off we will do Zoom-only teachings. If you are interested in joining, send an email to for the meeting info, all are welcome.

Update: You can sign up for weekly reminders the day before teachings by subscribing or updating your email newsletter subscription and checking off “Weekly teaching reminders”.

Update – no change until further notice

Dear Dharma Friends,

Hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

Geshe said he is thinking of us and praying for us everyday. He wants me to let you know that at times like this it is very important to always think of dharma and keep your mind positive, healthy and peaceful. This virus will pass away, it is the nature of impermanence. Read dharma books or listen to dharma teaching and meditate and recite mantras. Everything we experience is our karma. Reflect and meditate on the following dharma quote:

Unfortunate events push us to practice the dharma
Sickness is the broom that sweeps away negative karma
Suffering is part of samsara
In Samsara there is no permanant happiness

One of our members had requested that we have some homework (i.e. questions). I will start that from next Sunday. Geshe la said if you have specific questions from your reading dharma books, to send them to me and I will forward them to Geshe la.

Take care and be safe.

Ama la
